Firmware Update 2.0.3

There's a report over on the Amazon board of a new version for the K2 (2.0.3) currently going out via whispernet. Anyone have it? Know what it changes?

I saw a tweet that says a user can now read Russian, but its unsubstantiated.

I thought 2.0.3 had been out since shortly after the K2 release, approx Feb 26? Mine's at home, or I would check.

Oops -- sorry. That one was 2.0.2. There's another thread here, talking about 2.0.3 but no real conclusions yet!

The main changes were in the description of text-to-speech:

Text-to-Speech, which will read aloud your books (where allowed by the rights holder)

So, I wonder if this software update also creates the 'ability' to disable TTS?

K2 tried to update yesterday but i had the screen hack installed. i aborted the update and turned off the wireless. today i uninstalled the screenhack (put to sleep to update), turned on the wireless (p2s2u), reinstalled the screenhack (p2s2u). no baddies yet to report, K2 seems to be fine. i haven't purchased any books (loooove that pubdomain) but the samples are being read with tts (The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Plan B 3.0, Endgame V2...).

just giving you guys some data.

You don't have to put it to sleep to update. After you copy the file over just got to Home -> Menu -> Settings -> Menu -> Update Your Kindle.
