Books always revert to page 1 after installing Firmware

I have a major problem after applying firmware 5.6.1.1 for PW1.
Some books always revert to page 1 when I open them instead of opening at the last page when I read them last time. I have never had this problem before applying the firmware. I have tried to delete and redownload the books and reboot PW1 several times but that doesn't solve the problem.

Any suggestion?

Do you keep your kindle in Airplane mode and sideload updates? If so, try connecting your Kindle to Internet and let it sync with amazon. Kindle is prone to some database corruption that only fixes itself when on line. (in my case, I've had several times where the order of books on home page doesn't update with the newest book I opened at the top.)

It isn't database corrruption, it is a messed up timestamp. After rebooting, the internal time may get set back to a default date until you sync (or manually set the time from a shell prompt) -- causing books to be "correctly" marked as having been last opened years ago, and therefore showing up at the back of the list (sorted by recent).

But that should not mess up the current-page marker.

Hi, I tried to sync by tapping 'sync and check for new items' several times to no avail.

If you have PW1 with the latest 5.6.1.1 firmware update, could you please download a sample of this book http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BXT1Y1G ? Open it and go to the middle of the book. Close it and open another book (any book) in your library. Close it and open the sample again.

Does it revert to location 1?

This is one of the books that I have a problem with. I have both the sample and the purchased one and both of them exhibited the same problem. I have other books that don't have this problem. I wonder if the problem is book specific.

I have 5.6.2.1 rather than 5.6.1.1, but I can confirm that it definitely doesn't happen with that firmware. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
