Only get more storage if you install more memory. Higher class uSD card memory is not faster and not needed in Kobo readers. Some readers have problems with some brands uSD cards.

When I replaced the card in my Glo I tried SanDisk 8GB class 4 and SanDisk Ultra 16GB class 10 cards, but the only difference was that transferring a lot of books at once via the USB cable was faster with the class 10 card, there was no significant difference in the general operation of the device compared to the original card.

You will only feel it while transfering few gigs of manga.

In general, I don't expect screaming performance from an e-reader. Does the Glo HD feel sluggish in comparison to other e-ink readers?

I don't know about the Glo HD but the card that came with my H2O, while only 4GB, it was not slow at all (read speeds 15-20MB/s). All my other cards I had at home were slower than the H2O card. So I don't think you will see a huge speed improvement in a normal use case.
I do notice significant slowdown when I use some of my (slow, old) cards so if you do replace it you should make sure it's at least as fast as the one that the Kobo came with. |
