It could be worse, like enduring to read 1794 pages hoping it gets good at some point... only to realize at the end it does not!

P.S. That was the The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe. The most traumatizing book I've read.

The printed copy from Amazon is only 704 pages. Still it is thick book for a novel.

The introduction, of course, will consists of 25 pages of academic prose on why the content is only 6 pages.
