One might possibly excuse the apostrophe in "nazi's" on the grounds that it's an abbreviation (for "Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei"). However, the word should certainly be capitalised, since it's a proper noun.

I'm with issybird...I think it was intentional, tongue-in-cheek, whatever. Having read the story, though, I have to say I think it was a fair call.
