Any idea on how to fix my device?
My almost 3 years old device suddenly stopped working today. The screen is still showing a page from a PDF file but the screen completely froze.

I tried both turning off and hard reset but all to no avail. The image on the screen remained unchanged.

When I hold the slider the LED lit up for awhile, and that's all.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

I'd try charging it for about a day, preferably with a wall charger. Then try again.

I don't know what to show in a picture because on the outside everything looks fine. It just doesn't respond to reset button and power slider.

I also tried charging it with a wall charger it changed nothing.

So I think I am going to get a new e-reader.

@sdiox: broken displays look fine from the outside, except that the displayed image is not 100% perfect. Not sure what looks fine to you and what not in that regard.

If everything looks fine it's an odd issue since all other damages (even bad sectors in the internal memory) tend to blank the display in any case on power off/on. Maybe the display cable came loose internally? Highly unlikely for that to happen on its own though.

If it has an internal SD card slot you could try replacing it... *shrug*

No wonder it froze - it mentions Python exceptions on that page. Heh.

Doesn't look like a cracked display after all. So what's wrong with it?

Dead battery? But then you'd probably not get a LED to light up either.

I think my internal sd card might went bad because the size of the image file I got is only 31 MB.

very glad things are working for you again. It could just have been that the internal sd card moved and caused the information to glitch or become corrupt during a write.
