Hi!
I have Kindle Paperwhite (set so in the Calibre also) and I have a custom news source "Blogs" sent to me every morning. The problem is that Kindle does not recognize them as periodicals so no grouping or auto deletion happen. I saw that I should set timefmt = '' but AFAIK that happens automatically if I select Kindle Paperwhite in the Calibre setup wizard. Am I missing something? What should I do to get this working? Thanks. |

Amazon does not allow periodical delivery by email. Send them by USB.

Hi,
I think that is not quite correct. I just tried it myself, sent a periodical 4 times with calibre, parallel to my Kindle Paperwhite and my Kindle Keyboard. The Paperwhite shows 4 entries, the Kindle 3 shows one entry with 4 issues (3 of them hidden behind the front issue) The Paperwhite somehow recognizes the file as a periodical - the TOC is exactly as you would expect it in a periodical, there also is a date stamp beneath the file name and it says "delete this issue" instead of "remove from device" as for books. Must be something in the firmware of the Kindle I guess? Best regards. |

The OP of this two-and-a-half-year-old thread was talking about emailing a periodical to your send-to-kindle email address.
Amazon modifies emailed periodicals and turns them into regular books. Sending via calibre has always worked -- calibre generates the correct reverse-engineered periodical format. |
