credit card-size eink display?

i was thinking of using an old e-ink ereader to hold pictures of loyalty cards or any type of card that uses bar codes instead of a magnetic stripe at markets, etc. while this will certainly work, is there a smaller display device that would do this? the yota phone is perfect for this. and there are eink cases that are made for certain phones, but unfortunately only for those phones. i'm looking for one that is independent of the phone (can be connected to any phone or it can even be completely offline).

any info on such a display device?

sometimes standard color screens are not easily readable by bar code scanners.

i looked into all the smaller not so well-known brands of e-ink/digital ink readers and they seem a little clunky in the software/hardware department. and all these devices are still a little to big. maybe the newly re-vamped specs for the earl e-ink android device with the 4.7" screen will work. but there's no telling when this will come out.

I like the concept, but we'll have to see about general acceptance, and chip/PIN/NFC is a must, of course. Oh, and the price would have to come down significantly, too. It's nice, but not 155$ nice.

I was thinking more about the danger of losing a single tiny card tied to all your personal data.
Bulk has its uses.

plastc would probably work. but the e-ink area is only a portion of the card. how about the entire card space be the e-ink display? this would be perfect. somebody please make this (with or without the financial features).

For the purposes of the Plastc card itself, the eink section is certainly large enough.

A larger eink area would require more power to change, and would make the card not look like a credit card.

Not to mention that it would interfere with the chip placement. I don't know anyone making none rectangular eink (but I could be wrong about this).

understood. but i'm not actually looking for a credit card replacement. so it can be thicker than a credit card. i just want the same display size as a credit card.

They make eink store price display devices the size you want. But they are generally static.
