Meta Data Book Info - Access on Kindle?

I've got a PW2 and I load almost all my books via calibre. Before I do I download meta data to insure I've got the book descriptions, amongst other things. When I go to menu and select book info, the PW2 wants to go online. Is there anyway to look at the book description in the meta data? I've got the book in my hands, which should I have to go to the store to find info about it? |

Nope. The metadata field calibre uses for the book description doesn't even make it into a mobi file, IIRC. |

Use Polish Book in calibre to insert a metadata jacket -- it will inject most (all?) calibre metadata as a "page" in the ebook. Only works for AZW3 (and EPUB, but that's for other devices ). |

Shortcut key is "P". It allows you to update books with various minimal-changes routines. Updating metadata, embedding fonts, adding metadata jackets... stuff that you normally need to convert to do. |

It is the name of a calibre tool: "Polish books", not "books in the Polish language", but should still be capitalized; that is after all the way it is written in calibre's toolbars/menus. (Yes, I said "Polish Book" at first, it is written "Polish books" in calibre. Sorry about that, I didn't realize it was that important, but I still like to be in the habit of quoting exactly, and it turns out I remembered wrong. ) Assuming that capitalization should be the way to distinguish the two is a lousy habit to get into, as most people will probably spell both lowercased anyway. |

But when being written on a forum - all bets are off - pick from context. If some vendor decides to refer to the group of actions that put all the nice finishing touches on a book (which is another English usage), . . . . Woe be it for the reader to figure out the sentence. But anyway - you did repeat my point - whatever that feature group does - it does it to books of any nationality. (Now if the interface had a: "German Books" - I would expect it to toss in a handful of letters to make the words a minimum of at least 25 letters long. ) Last edited by knc1; 06-09-2014 at 09:33 PM. | |

I came in looking for a way to get descriptions on my books n the kindle voyage and this polish book method seems to work fine for me. That paired with a plugboard so I can have the information of the series showing in the kindle has me very happy. 😃💃👍 |
