metadata.db library back up

One of my laptop stolen last week so i am starting to back up everyhing

Looks like calibre back up everything excellent.

My question is can we see our ebook info (tags, rating) without books?

in detail lets say...
1. my every comp. , external hds stolen.
2. there is a problem with Dropbox or other cloud
3. i only have a back of metadata.db in my email

To me hours i will spend to make the library (comments, tag, rating) is more important to me. So can we see /edit that list without the books? Virtual lib. without books.

You have a broken Library of "Empty Books" (AKA Metadata only) and NO COVERS (they existed in the tiles folder)

It seems to work with just metadata.db in the folder to see the metadata

Thanks. i moved the books (should have tried before asking) and Metadata looks fine.
