1st thing to try would be plugging it in for a couple of hours, then trying to turn it on again. It's possible it just ran out of power if it's completely unresponsive.

nxhung, after you've tried what robko has suggested, have you tired doing a reset with a paperclip and the pinhole at the back of the device? You'll need to press the paperclip in and hold it for about 15 seconds, until the light near the power slider starts blinking blue and green.

But robko is right, that you need to be sure it's well charged.

Good luck!

As it is booting to the language prompt screen, unless there is a hardware problem, I would expect a factory reset to solve it. So, what was the "something stupid" you did?

@davidfor: Fist my Touch is working good. But when I copied an Xcsoar software into Touch, the screeen of my Kobo is blank and no working. But bad thing is I fogort to backup the Kobo software into image.

Later, I reformated the micro SD card on my laptop (windows 7.0), and found and Touch N905C image, so I used this software to my Touch. Then you see the frozen scren as my #1 post.

Can you found the way to solve this problem, and make my Touch back to normal again ?

With what you have done and the current state, the only thing I can think of is that you didn't put it back together properly. A disconnected cable is an obvious suggestion but I can't remember if there is a separate cable for the IR sensors or it uses the same as for the screen. Otherwise the IR sensors might not be positioned correctly. I've managed to do that one of the times I pulled a Touch apart.

Other than that, the only other thing is the battery. If it is flat, then the screen won't change, so make sure it is charged.

I missed the models. Your signature shows an N905B but you found a N905C image and used that. No, I wouldn't expect that to work and I'm surprised it got as far as it did. So, yes, it was a stupid thing to do

I have sent you a PM with the link to the N905B image. Restoring that should fix the ereader.

you could try with a different/new SD card... if it's a larger GB you can expand the partition after copying the image and have extra storage space for your books as well... Bonus!

nxhung: Other than Uschiekid's suggestion of trying a new card, I don't know. For most people, restoring the image works. When it doesn't something else is wrong.

The only other comment is that formatting the card first is pointless. The image is a bit copy of the image on another card. It replaces everything on the card. It shouldn't harm, but it was a waste of time.

I got other SD card, and used the "HDD Raw copy tool" to copy the N905B image to this card. When I opened the Kobo, it's still blue led and turn off in few second. I tried to charge it in few hours, but same bad thing happened.

Do you think the "HDD Raw copy tool" is correct soft to add image to SD card ? Or do I need to use other soft ? please advise.

I read some comments that need to format the SD card by Blackbery smart phone is OK, but not to try it yet.

Now I'm very anxious and don't know how to fix my kobo, cause not many people using Kobo in our region. And no shop know how to fix it either. I sent my Kobo to the seller in Japan for warranty, but they sent it back to us and said it's not hardware fault - no warranty. And they did nothing to solve or help me fix software problem.

Could you please help me ?

I don't know "HDD Raw copy tool". Have a look at Memory Upgrade Mod Guide. That has the steps and links to tools that others have used. The steps are for the Glo, but the basic steps are the same for all the Kobo ereaders.

This is copied from another thread where it probably doesn't belong. Sorry!

I have been trying everything to fix my Kobo Touch N905B. I am down to needing an image file to put on a new SD card as there are supposedly errors on the old one. Could you possibly send me the file?
