Analog Science Fiction - 1000th Issue

Worth the read, available as ebook etc. at all the usual places. A great special section that talks about the history of Analog and SF in general from several perspectives.

Worth the price just for the cover art (which is a take-off of the first issue)

Thanks Don, One of the articles I mentioned discusses those early stories....and the way Campbell 'transformed' or 'created' science fiction. It does some comparison of the stories and styles. It might be interesting to read some of those first stories alongside the recent issues.

The later ones are broken up with only the fiction in Project Gutenberg. That's the entire Clayton Astounding run.

The images are at archive.org if you want to look at the scans.

My (reasonably) local used book store always has a (reasonably) good supply of used Astounding and Analog back issues -- as well as Galaxy, F&SF, etc.

These days I have a "combo" subscription to Analog and Asimov's at Barnes & Noble. The latest Asimov's was delivered on time, but Analog was late. I called them about it last week and finally got it delivered on Friday. It looks good!
