				Calibre-64 crashes in Win8.1 save-to-disk dialog?

I've just been upgraded to Windows 8.1 (grrr!) and have installed the 64-bit version of Calibre (2.31). However, whenever I try to save a book to disk, as soon as the "Choose destination directory" dialog appears, I get a notification that "Calibre has stopped working". Has anyone else had this problem, and does anyone have any advice to offer me? |

Followup: Just tried an older Calibre Portable (2.17) from my memory stick; I pointed it at the same library as the 64-bit version, and it saved just fine. So is there perhaps a problem with the 64-bit build?

Portable uses its own config file. Look at the (hidden) one in your Users/Appdata/Roaming/calibre folder |

OK. The portable version config was originally copied over from my main machine when it was Win 7 (also 64 bit, but running 32-bit Calibre). Just to make sure, I renamed the portable Calibre Settings directory, created a new one and then copied the entire directory across from the 64-bit version. The portable version still saves just fine (same book from same library to same destination). The fact that it saves from portable also means that it isn't something trivial like a naming issue or a permissions problem. So that leaves me wondering about a build issue...

Followup: just to be sure, I uninstalled the 64-bit version and replaced it with the 32-bit version (and copied the config directory back from my memory stick). It now seems to work fine... or at least, so far so good!
