File sizes
I have some epub files which I have converted to Kindle using Amazon's Kindle Previewer software. They are almost entirely text, the only image being a small (11kb) cover image.

To my surprise, the mobi files were much bigger - eg 462kb compared with 115. Is this what you would expect?

KindlePreviewer creates hybrid .mobi files that contain the old and new file formats and the source files.

If size is an issue, use Calibre to convert your files and select AZW3 as the target format.
