Free (nook/Kindle/iTunes/DRM-free) Alive: A Cold-Case Approach [Xtian Jesus Analysis]
Alive: A Cold-Case Approach to the Resurrection by J. Warner Wallace, himself a homicide detective among other things, is his brief-but-thorough crime-scene-analysis-oriented theology take which examines various accounts for clues to Exactly What It Says In The Title, free courtesy of Christian publisher David C. Cook.
Apparently, this has previously been offered free in mid-2014, but doesn't seem to have gotten mentioned on MR, although another one of the author's similarly-themed books, Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels which was also free around the same time was. So, I'm just going to treat it as a new freebie for the purposes of the daily non-repeat thread count, since I really want to get some sleep. Currently free, probably just for the next couple of days @ B&N (may also drop in the UK), Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK), iTunes & Google Play (both available to Canadians). Normally these things also go free @ ChristianBook (DRM-free ePub available to selected countries), but this one's being a bit stubborn to drop tonight, though it'll probably get adjusted in the morning or show up during another repeat cycle. May also be found free via other venues listed on the publisher's webcatalogue page, and sometimes DCC freebies also make it to BookShout (online reading & in-app download) in the morning. Description "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins" (1 Cor. 15:17). The resurrection. As far as doctrines go, it's a game changer. Many accept the resurrection without giving it much thought. But isn't something so important worthy of our wrestling with it? What if we approached the issue of the resurrection in an unbiased manner and assessed it as a cold case detective would evaluate a crime scene? Author J. Warner Wallace is a cold-case detective. He also used to be an atheist. Follow along in this brief presentation of his approach in applying his detective's expertise to the accounts of the resurrection. Wallace believes the case is nothing but compelling: Jesus is alive! |

I just finished reading Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels, and really appreciated it. Good "case work".
