Conversion for Printing

What are the best settings for converting an ebook for printing?

I have a couple of Kindle ebook that I want a hard copy of. I am running Win 7 and printing a booklet (4 pages on a page) on an HP Printer.

A PDF conversion of a file resulted in 43 pages. A ePub conversion resulted in 53 pages. ePub won't allow printing 4 pages on a page

The PDF came out OK but the margins are a little tight and there are a couple of extra blank pages. I located where you can play with margins.

I am looking for suggestions on Look and Feel and Page Setup for printing.
