The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch by bestselling British author Joseph Delaney (ISFDB, Wikipedia) is the 1st novel in his popular The Last Apprentice (Wikipedia; aka The Wardstone Chronicles in the UK) sub-series of his Spook's Universe series of YA dark fantasy/light horror set in a supernatural version of the English countryside where where so-called Spooks are dedicated fighters of mystical evil, this sub-series centred around the titular apprentice to a master Spook, whose previous such had a rather high mortality rate, this installment introducing the one who will eventually survive, if he can overcome various fatal challenges including the titular witch, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher HarperCollins's Greenwillow imprint.

We've previously received a large chunk of the series as glitch freebies, but that was back in 2011 and this is the first time it's been offered officially, as B&N's Free Fridays selection for this weekend.

Currently free, probably just through the weekend @ B&N, Amazon & Kobo & iTunes (none available to Canadians). Probably also free @ Google Play & eBooks.com for the US.

I remember when a large # of Mr. Delaney's Apprentice books were offered free at the same time back in 2011. I think it was 10 books in all that were free at that time.
