Question Kobo AURA lighting issue...

I recently got a Kobo Aura and although I'm not noticing grey spots...mine is yellow on top and blueish on bottom. At first I didn't notice this until I started reading and then compared it side by side to my Nook Glowlight (has a ton a spots up top - but I can't beat $50 craigslist and I noticed it and now I can't take my eyes off of it. I'm thinking about exchanging it. Here's a photo. Anyone else notice? Anything else you notice?

My Aura is less yellowish on top, but there certainly is a transition in colour from top to bottom. If it really bothers you you might consider exchanging it, but you should realize that with current technology it seems there will always be some uneven quality to the front light.

If I really look for it, I can see that my Aura is the same, transitioning from cool white towards the bottom to slightly warmer white towards the top, but I mean I really have to look for it because the difference is so subtle. It's not a big deal at all.

Not to minimize anyone's dilemma, but I really think some folks get far more absorbed by these minor variations than the majority of the user pool. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I can get fixated on extremely minor points at times -literally things no on else would ever notice, so I understand, but unless you hand the device to someone else and they remark about the issue without being prompted it may just be a bit of over fixation on your behalf.

DRIB, could you please leave a little note behind or something when you're manning the editing pencil and let us know what you've done and why? The first post is missing the image that the OP said was attached, and I'm sure others are wondering why or if that was due to your editing or a violation or whatever. I hate asking, but unexplained editing really drives me nuts when reading the forum and we all might learn something.

And to repost what was moved:

But I did see the image before it was deleted and it definitely had a yellowish cast to the top part fading down to bluish/white. Honestly that would drive me crazy.

I see what you're talking about in the reposted image, but frankly, I don't think it's a big deal. The text is still clearly visible, and the slight color change from top to bottom doesn't interfere with reading.

That color shift would bother me.

I always thought the Aura had the worst of the various Kobo readers, and I've had almost all at one point or another. I went through three Aura's before giving up.
