The Geek Girl and the Scandalous Earl by Gina Lamm is the 2nd in her Geek Girls series of humorous f/m time-travel romances involving plucky young modern women with geeky interests who slip back a few centuries in time to a far less fannishly nerdy age and find love with the locals who must learn to adapt to the foibles of their new ladies, Lost in Austen-style (Wikipedia), this installment starring a girl gamer and the titular earl bonding over Angry Birds, as you do, free courtesy of publisher Sourcebooks' Casablanca imprint.

Currently free @ B&N (doesn't seem to exist in the UK store), Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK), Kobo & iTunes (both available to Canadians).

If something else that wasn't considerably more compelling hadn't just popped up, this would be my selected 3rd pick for the day, because as it happens, the 2nd in series (which features historical re-creationism, which I freely admit to being a sucker for) was one of the things I cashed in one of my remaining credits for Sourcebooks' Discover A New Love bookclub out of mild morbid curiosity (and because I have a certain fondness for Lost in Austen* and I figure maybe there's enough fannish references in these to make them entertaining), it being really hard to find all that much of interest in their catalogue when you're a no-romo.

So getting this 1st-in-series free as well is a pretty nifty treat, considering I was highly unlikely to buy it on my own anyway since it's no longer credit-eligible.
