cant email to @kindle.com

hi all,

I can not send books to my kindle mailbox right now. Using calibre 2.20 and gmx mail service.

Error message as follow,

@deva1984 - can you ping smtp.gmx.com (212.227.17.174)

GMX and other United Internet related sites (eg UI itself, GMX, 1 by 1 and zabkat) have been suffering 'location selective' intermittent dropouts from DNS servers over the past few months. I'm aware of it effecting people, at different times, in Australia, Singapore, Seattle and Chicago.

It'll come back, it my case it took ~60 hours, SNG took ~36 hours.

I have tried sending it since Friday. Anyway happy it's "fixed". ^^

I've effectively 'cancelled' my GMX account by removing it from various places I was using it - mainly forums, mailing lists and the like.

It must be a problem at UI. They're an €8B outfit listed on the DAX, and one of Germany's biggest ISP's, so you'd hope they'd know how to fix it. I lost them in mid-November, the other incidents I know of have happened in the months since.

IMO three months of persistent long lasting outages is just not good enough. But it was free so I can't complain. At least the men from MAD didn't steal my mail like the NSA men did.
