Changed lynx to booxtor edition - can't install one single app from Play Store
Although the most recent update to my Onyx Lynx eventually solved the ongoing issues with the touchscreen, other problems emerged (onyx launcher crashed on each start-up. Luckily I could change it to another launcher I had installed earlier, but afterwards I could only switch the light on and off, couldn't controle that setting anymore.)
So I decided to change the firmware to Booxtor's edition, following the directions in this thread. This went smoothly, and my first impressions were good, until I tried to install Moon Reader from Google play store. I kept getting an error. "Moon+ reader Pro" could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information trom server [RPC: S-7 AEC-7 WXIB-... etc.] (The same error occurred when I tried to download other apps.) A search learned me there are two ways to solve this probleem: - clear cache and force stop Google play store, then clear data and force stop Google services. - switch to another google account and switch back to original account But neither of those worked. I also tried a factory reset, but no success either. I wanted to install the latest update from booxtor, but the link in this thread to the latest update leads to a non-existent page. I then decided to reinstall the original software, replacing the update.zip in the package provider by booxtor with update.zip from Onyx. But, although the mfgtool2 had no problems finding my device the first time, it doesn't seem able to recognize it anymore, so I seem stuck with Booxtor's edition. I would be glad to get some suggestions... Last edited by AnneT; 11-28-2015 at 05:42 PM. |

I also had the same problem. You should 3. clear and stop download manager and it data.

Thank you, Johh.
I tried your solution too (had tried this yesterday, but in another sequence: first download manger, then the other ones), but this didn't work either. So I had to revert to a more or less complicated workaround: I downloaded the APK of the apps I wanted to my computer, transferred them to my ereader and installed them. Of course, this way I could only install free apps, not Moon+ Reader Pro, nor Calibre Companion, both apps that I already paid for. I can do with the free version of Moon+ Reader, but I really miss Calibre Companion... But I'll ask the developers of this app here on the forum if there is a way to get the apk, I'm willing to pay for it again. |
