Sony PRS-950

Hi,

I currently own a PRS-650, which works great, but I would love to upgrade to a 7 inch screen. Let me know (via PM or by replying over here) if you have one for sale.

Thanks!

PS: I live in the US, so would prefer to buy it from here rather than overseas.

To be honest, given the age of the 950 and the fact that there is no known source of batteries other than Sony at somewhere around $80, it's not worth it. The chances are that the battery is going to not hold a charge very well. I would suggest you look for a Reader with a larger (larger than 6") screen such as the Kobo Aura H2O or the Onyx Boox T68. Both have a 6.8" screen and you can get more text on screen then a 950 since the 950 is just a taller 6" screen and the 6.8" screen is wider as well. Plus, the 6.8" screen is higher resolution so you get clearer sharper text.

Thanks I will look in to it. Do you think the build quality of kobo h2o or onyx boox would match up to the 950's?

I cannot speak for the T68, but I have a 650, T1, and H2O. The h2O is good. I have it in a Fintie slim sleep cover and it's just fine. The H2O is lighter then the 950 at 233g vs. 273g. The screen is nicer then the 950 (same screen as the 650 just a different size) and the front light is very useful for reading in low light and the dark. The h2O uses a high resolution Carta eInk screen. The same screen as the Kindle Voyage.

Thanks for the info! Also another question about the H2O - is it fine for reading pdfs? I read a lot of journal articles on the 650 that I have and I quite like it.
