Remember Kobo's don't display folders. However, seeing you posted in a calibre forum I presume you use Calibre.

Take a look at Kobo_Shelves_and_Collections or Quick Guide to Shelf Management with calibre 0.9.1 & above (Touch / Glo / Mini /Aura)

Thank-you for your response. I will check it out, I have an older KOBO reader so I may have to update the software. I did read about shelves online,I thought I was on the wrong track, I will try looking into it again.I will also connect to my desktop and check, I am 74 years old and my memory is not what it once was, but I seem to remember all the authors were in folders . I will get back to you when I get a chance. Thanks once again.

While yes, calibre might put books into folders / directories on the Kobo based on authors names, this information is not used or displayed by the ereader s/w on the device itself.

It seems that if I do a search on my ebook it well take me to the folder listed as the author. I was hoping that by maybe changing the name of the author to "best sellers list" it would take me to that folder, but I am unsure of were to change it in "Metadata" or if that would even work. Some day I am going to experiment, unless of course somebody on this site all ready knows.

Well I have had no luck, I used "Metadata" and changed sort author to "best sellers" i.e. author's name to "best sellers", the folder "Best sellers" is now shown in the Ereader, but as you pointed out my Kobo will not search for the pseudo "best sellers" so what I have done is printed a list of the books from the best sellers list and will use that to search, thanks for your help.

Using the Shelves and Collections feature from calibre is pretty simple. I'm sure you could get the hang of it in a few minutes.
