Interesting issue

Started yesterday. If I click in the body of the calibre window I can no longer click the minimize, maximize, or exit buttons on the title bar. I also can no longer drag the window around by the title bar. I have to minimize calibre by clicking on the icon in the windows taskbar and then restore by clicking on the same icon again before being able to interact with the buttons or title bar dragging.

updated to the latest (2.16) today but still have same problem

running Calibre 64 on a Windows 7 Pro box (16 GB Ram)

Gone through the freezing and crashing faq but nothing seemed to apply.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

Fresh download (no download managers)
Uninstall, (reboot) Install the fresh version

W7 (64) works fine here

@MrKoffee
theducks & make sure you download from ==>> http://calibre-ebook.com/download

Can you min, max and restore with the Alt/Space menu, that's 'alt/space N', 'alt/space X" and 'alt/space R' respectively ?

Have you tried installing the 32bit version ?

@MrKoffee - the reboot shouldn't be necessary, a calibre install doesn't do anything that would require reboot - if it happens again then something weird is happening on your system.

The reboot is just to be safe and clear anything hanging around.

It is not supposed to be needed... But never hurts

Yeah, but in the case of calibre, if the problem persists then something is broken or something is interfering with the install - malware maybe.

Much of the software that asks the user to do a restart after an install only does so on order to make the software appear to be more sophisticated than it actually is - i.e. the vendor is engaging in sophistry. Same with 'close all other programs', if MS can install OS patches while I'm still using the system then...
