Calibre has to be manually minimized

I don't know if this is something to do with calibre or something I've done but since the last update I cannot get calibre to auto minimize when I try to switch to something else on my desktop (IE or warcraft for example).

I have to manually click the minimize button or it just sits on top.

If I'm editing meta data I can't click the minimize button.

It's just a bit irritating as I'm one of those people that likes to click between different things when I'm online.

If anyone knows how to fix it I would be grateful

The other program is not getting placed on top of the calibre window? Odd, that should be handled by the OS...
I do know linux desktops usually have the ability to mark a window to always remain on top. Obviously not the problem here and anyway that is still an OS issue.

@purple_kathryn - maybe it's something to do with Aero Shake see ==>> Aero Shake - Enable or Disable

I don't think the metadata edit window has ever been provisioned with a minimise button - it must be exited via OK (enter) or Cancel (escape).

Which syllable of 'maybe' escapes your comprehension.

It will take a few seconds start gpedit, toggle and apply the setting, another couple of seconds to determine if it makes any difference, and if it doesn't, then another second or two to toggle and apply it again, and close gpedit.

Thank you that has fixed it

(I meant that it was causing me hassle because although there's no big deal manually minimizing something if I want to edit the meta data for a few things instead of just clicking next and the surfing or whatever, I was having to hit ok, minimize, do whatever, go back go into the next one - somewhat hassle-ish!)

But we're all good now

I was simply curious as to why this might be the problem.

You can do most single book editing directly into the book list (assuming the columns are shown), highlight the cell you want to change, hit F2, enter new value, Tab to edit next cell, Enter to finish editing.

You can edit most non derived columns in the book list, exceptions I know of are the IDs (ISBN, ASIN etc) and Comments. Templates for derived columns can be edited in the book list - which is especially relevant to program mode templates.

Just one of my shots in the dark.

Aero Shake is often mentioned in game player forums, I suspect some games mess with the setting. I noticed that the OP was a WoW player, so 2+2 is probably 3
