Snippets !!! Icon for the toolbar??

Snippets are GREAT Any chance that you could make an icon that I could add to the toolbar(s) to make [Manage Snippets] more accessible??? |

I'll be happy to add one if someone can suggest a good (properly licensed) icon for it.

Something like the one on this page: http://joshnh.com/2012/02/03/a-colle...ublime-text-2/ Possibly you could make your own? This scissor icon wrapped in brackets... |

I though of a scissor but that is already used for cut and also this is an icon for the snippet manager not snippets themselves (which are entirely keyboard driven)

I think I personally would prefer something with scissors over this, despite that it shares some of the look with Cut. Or maybe brackets with an asterisk to represent expanding text? Functionally the same as this one, except I just don't really see the connect with a pipe there. |

The pipe represents the cursor position. The icon evokes the fact that you can use placeholders to position your cursor. Placeholders use the {} syntax. Snippets dont actually involve any cutting, they involve inserting, so while a scissor is evocative of snipping in non-digital life, it isn't really suitable for the digital snippet. |

To me, the important thing is to have the [Manage Snippets] function available on the toolbar so it's easy to get to. I foresee a lot of use for this.

Could the icon also be given a user configurable keyboard shortcut. And can the user configure the snippet insertion keyboard shortcut - ctrl/j. I couldn't find it in prefs->keyboard, if not then would it be possible to make it user configurable. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 01-11-2015 at 04:40 PM. |

Thank you, kovidgoyal, for this feature. It helps a lot in creating footnote, saving 90% of the time for this task. However, I need to move to the end of the file to insert the note, so could you please add something like $end (before </body> tag)? Currently my template looks like this Code: <span class="notelink"><a href="#n$1" id="nl$1" epub:type="noteref">[$1]</a></span>$2 Code: <span class="notelink"><a href="#n$1" id="nl$1" epub:type="noteref">[$1]</a></span>$end Last edited by nqk; 01-12-2015 at 03:41 AM. |

Instead of pressing ctrl+j press ctrl+End it will jump to the end of the file
