Kobo review beta?
hi, has anyone had any problems writing reviews on kobo recently? have contacted kobo direct but was curious to find out if anyone on here had been getting a 404 pop up after review submission.

Not sure whether its still in testing and as i'm in the uk i cant participate.

Using chrome.

I get the 404 page when I try to submit from the website, I'm using Firefox..

The ratings I enter on my Glo for newly-read books show up on the website okay after I sync, but there doesn't seem to be any way to get the ratings for books I have already read to show up.

Do you mean for books you rated before FW3.12.0? Kobo changed where the ratings are stored in the database. It seems to look in both the old "ratings" table and the new "Reviews" table. I would hope that changing the rating to something else and then changing it back would move it to the new table and sync. It might need you to close and reopen the details screen between the changes.

If that doesn't work, a little database hacking probably will.

Yes, the books I finished reading after installing 3.12.0 sync their ratings to the website fine, but the ones that I had already finished before 3.12.0 don't.

I have tried "re-reading" one of the books that I finished before 3.12.0 by going to the last page and turning one more page, and the rating/stats page comes up after I turn the last page, but the rating still doesn't sync. I guess this could be intentional, they might only want the rating from the first time the book is read.

Hi peterwardgd/GeoffR,

Ratings and reviews are no longer in testing. I just successfully submitted a review without the 404 error on Chrome however so will need to look into this. Any chance you can post a screen shot of the error message so we can look into it further? Or since this is likely a technical issue it's best to work directly with me, so feel free to send me a private message to discuss further. Thanks for your help!

I tried with various browsers and its only chrome that doesn't allow me to review for some reason. I'm stricter with cookies with chrome as its my main browser that might have something to do with it.

When proceeding to the actual books page where you can purchase, review etc i noticed a deluge of 3rd party cookies that where being blocked and some may be related to the reviewing of books.

Thanks, I tried allowing third party cookies in Firefox and now the review is accepted. If I block third party cookies then I get the 404 page.
