Lost files in Conversion

I am losing files in conversion.
I am doing some image code testing on Sigil and then using Calibre to convert to AZW3.
When I view on my Kobo, the epub has 10 files + the cover, but in conversion, I am down to 4 files for some reason. The files are each of one image that I am playing with a bit to determine the effects of different code (I am a novice)
I am attaching the two files for comparison.
I have never lost images in the conversion process before today.
Attached Files
File Type: azw3 Test code for images - Paul Pagano.azw3 (351.1 KB, 162 views)
File Type: epub image_sizes_test.epub (329.6 KB, 145 views)

The number of files in an azw3 is not necessarily going to be the same as in an epub, internally they are very different. Is any actual content missing?

And note that azw3 does not support svg for covers. Covers must be jpeg images.

Yes, lots if images are gone. I had the same image coded 10 different ways to see how they would display. The AZW3 only has 4 from what I can tell.

About the svg, does Calibre auto change that when it does the AZW3 conversion? I have had no issues with my covers on a Fire and they all have the svg originally in the epub.

Your epub is referring to the cover image in normal content (outside the titlepage) Azw3 does not support that. You need to have a separate cover image, refered to in only one place.
