T68 - Hardware graphics acceleration

Hi, I purchased a T68 to use with Logos Bible Software's Android app. It worked perfectly until the last update by Logos. Now the reading screen is completely black although the rest of the app functions normally.

Logos said that the updated app now uses "Hardware accelerated graphics". I'm not sure what this means. Does this mean that my $200 T68 is now worthless to me, or is there a solution?

I was in the same boat as you. I can't say if the "hardware accelerated graphics" aspect of the app is the problem we're seeing, because I have another E-Ink Android device (the Boyue T62) that handles the newest Logos Android app very well.

What I had to do is to track down the previous version of the Logos app (4.3.9), delete the newer version on my T68, and install the older one. Make sure that Play Store is set to not automatically install updates. You'll have to re-download any resources you want to have on your T68. But, as long as the app doesn't update, you're good.

I'd attach the 4.3.9 apk for you here, but there's a 20 MB limit, from what I understand, and the apk is about 25 MB.

I'm guessing you are the same guy that replied to my similar thread on the Logos forum.
Would you be willing to try to email the file to me, or perhaps, put it up on dropbox or an FTP site? I don't have access to the old version.

I should have done this already! Anyway, here is my Dropbox link to the apk. It's the Verbum app, which is identical to the Logos app with the exception of some additional Catholic-specific content.

Sorry about that! It was a previous version of free software which the company offers to anyone. No piracy involved. But I understand. Lesson learned.

Unfortunately copyright law makes on distinction between whether something is free or not - you still need the permission of the copyright holder to redistribute it. No harm done.
