How to deal with annotations?

Hi, I've taken to highlighting new words while reading on the Kobo as a DIY substitute to Kindle's vocabulary builder. I have the annotations backup plugin in calibre, and I can collate all those words into a single text file later if I want to.

I have two questions -

(1) Once I'm done with the book, I'd like to delete all those vocabulary-related highlights from the device. How do I accomplish that quickly without having to open up the annotations for the book and long-pressing and deleting each highlight one by one? Can I edit the annotations from within calibre instead nd have the changes reflected in the book on the device?

(2) As far as I can see, the annotations are backed up as metadata in calibre, and I can copy-paste them into a text file if I want to. Are those annotations a two-way street though? Supposing I buy a new aura and re-load my books onto it, can I pass on the annotations from calibre to the new aura and have them show in the corresponding book on the new device?

Open the annotations list for the book and tap the menu at the top of the list. It has an option "Remove all". Selecting that will remove all the annotations for the book.

And in case you don't know, you don't have to open the book to get to the annotations list. Find the book in the library list and long press on it. If the book has annotations, it will have "Annotations" in the menu.

There is no way to delete the annotations from within calibre. If you want to play with the database, you can delete them directly.

No, it is only one-way. There isn't enough information collected to recreate them.

Thanks. The "remove all" feature is far too extreme for my purpose tough. It would delete all annotations, even the ones I don't want removed. I had in mind a check box selection thingy so I could select just the highlighted words to remove, and leave the legitimate notes and highlights remaining...
