Transferring all books and saved data/reading progress to new kindle?

I ended up with a new paperwhite with the bigger hard drive for christmas, and I was wondering if it's possible to transfer all the content from my old paperwhite to the new one, including all the book progress, etc. I know I can download the actual purchases from amazon easily enough, but it's the other books that worry me.

I have a crapton of side loaded books, and basically don't want to lose the amount I've read if I don't have to.

Wasn't sure how to go about this, so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know

in advance!

Read this thread about transferring content from PW to PW. I'm not sure about transferring reading progress for side loaded books - hopefully someone will know.

Appreciate the link

Gonna try just dumping everything from my first paperwhite onto my pc, and then copying the whole shebang (systems folder and documents folder) to the new one and see how that works out.

Note that this will not work if any of the books on your old device have DRM, because it's device-specific.
