Application Error?

Anyone know what could cause a kindlet to crash immediately upon opening with the dialog:

Code:
Application Error The selected application could not be started. Please try again.
I'm trying to run a Hello World application. It's signed properly and built for the 1.4 jdk (though I've tried building it for 1.5 with retroweaver, still no dice)

Any clue?

Did you check the compatibility of the Amazon firmware version your using with support for Active Documents?

I can run KUAL and other active apps (official or otherwise). I'm on firmware 5.1.something and I compiled it against the 2.1 API, what my kindle runs on.

What you quoted is a relatively general error message.
Usually, a problem with the key(s) and/or signing -
OR
with the Active Document support of the Kindle firmware -
OR
an incorrect API targeted.

Since you are sure it is none of the above - then the message must be imaginary.
After all, it is a machine, it can't intentionally lie.

I found the problem and fixed it, I really hadn't read up on kindlet development at all. My code was completely wrong in every way. It all works now.
