Giveawayoftheday - Simple Words
Hi,

Simple Words text processor free today - Giveaway of the day . It is portable and claims it can open and save (?) these: DOC (MS Word 97-2003 format), DOCX (MS Word 2007 format), RTF, HTML, MHT (Web page archive format), XML (WordML format), ODT, EPUB, TXT (plain text). It is also possible to export files to PDF. I have not tried it yet, but seems interesting.

Hi,
does not open epub. Saves as epub, but the resulting epub shows only a couple of random words in Adobe Digital Editions 3. When opened in Sigil it complains about malformed html and asks for permission to fix it. One of the files I tried (Rudy Rucker Wetware trilogy rtf) was fixed by Sigil and was ok in Digital Editions. Another file (html file from Gutenberg Australia) again showed only some random words in Digital Editions. Attempting to fix it in Sigil resulted in Sigil crashing every time.
So not for epub, but seems to be a nice portable text processor in other respects.

Today's GOTD is interesting. WonderFox DVD Video Converter 7.5 The file includes a Reg. Key as part of the zip. It's been my experience that when there is a Reg. Key included you can use it to activate a copy of the file from the main website so if you have computer trouble in the future you can always re-install the program using the same Reg. Key even though the program copy that is at GOTD is a self-contained setup with a time limit for just that one day.
