Firmware Update New PW 2013 upgrade affects Collections

I noticed that all my Collections disappeared today other than the one I am currently reading.

I had to go to the Cloud to press each one to get them back.

Thus, family members with different Collections can only use the ones they want now.

I know, it's a great update. Collections finally make sense now

So great to just see what you have on the device when you select that view. I keep the books in my collections on 'recent' as a sort field and I kept getting the greyed out books I'd removed from the device at the top of the list. This is so much better.

So, if I upgrade (currently running 5.4.3 on my PW2), would I be able to keep my PW in airplane mode and use collections without the nagging to go online to sync? I know my collections wouldn't be in the cloud--I really have no interest in cloud collections, but would like to be able to use collections on my PW without the constant nag screens.

I recently sideloaded over 100 books to my Voyage and I had no pop up messages

This is great news! I've avoided using collections because of the pop up messages on my PW2. When I get a chance, I'll update my firmware and start exploring the collections again.

Be sure to jailbreak now (or update to the latest version of the jailbreak) if you have any intention of ever using jailbreak features. It won't be possible after the update, and you would lock yourself off of future paths.

Good point!!!!! I hadn't thought of that....I haven't applied the jailbreak to my PW2 in the year plus that I've had it, but I've thought about doing it a few times. Guess I need to decide whether that's something I'd be interested in at some point before I do the update...

Knowing my luck--I could inadvertently miss a critical step and the PW would never be the same...But, I might work up my courage to try this weekend, if I find a little free time.

There is no critical step, trust me the worst thing you could possibly do is fail to actually run the jailbreak. Which is harmless, because nothing happens.
