How do you protect your device?

Was just thinking about how we protect our devices.....

I personally thought we could all share our methods and madness....

I have mine locked tight in a water/fireproof safe that prevents the unit from getting wet and burned up. It really works well for me as so far it has not gotten wet or burned up. As an added benefit this prevents unauthorized use and fingerprints on the unit. The downside to this method is the fact That I have forgotten the Combination to said safe and have not been able to use my reader. But it is safe from water and fire damage!

What are your methods and madness for protecting your E-reader from damage?

regards

Jack

A case and a modicum of care. Works so far, for six e-ink device owners in my family, aged from preteens to people in their seventies.

I think it's sensible to buy sufficient spares to ensure that I'll always have at least one ereader that works. That's why I have a Sony PRS-650, a Kindle Keyboard, a Kindle Touch, a Kindle Paperwhite-1, a Nook Glowlight, a Kobo Aura, a Kobo Aura H2O, and a Kindle Voyage (each with a wardrobe of cases), as well as reading apps on one phone, two tablets, two laptops, and a few ancient pocket PCs.

Care, and attention. And remembering the combination to the safe

I think I have blowtorch somewhere that might open that safe... Oh look, have some thermite

I use a hard case for transporting my Glo, but at home I don't do anything special other than placing it face down on a flat surface to protect the screen (one benefit of having a recessed screen), and trying not to drop it too often.

I have a "Kobo sleep cover" for my glo, it makes it larger (hard to keep in a pocket) but it's a good protection for a normal usage.
It doesn't protect against sand or water, but it works when falling or carrying in a bag.

I also had a slipcover, but I now use it for my portable hard drive

Sleepcover for around the house, and one of those Amazon Basics neoprene zip cases for when I'm out and about

Both of my ereaders live in neoprene cases. I usually place them face down when not in use to protect the screen from being randomly walked across by my live-in felines.

I had a book type cover which I threw away. I hated using it in one hand. So naked it is.
I would love to find a good Aura sleeve, but haven't so far. (Not hd)

And thus, no protection when actually in use. A sleeve is only partial protection and not partial enough to be of any real value.

Device: Just a whole bunch. I guess I am a collector now.
My devices all start protective skins from Skinit or Decalgirl, and then a screen protector. This part includes even tiny MP3 players.

After that I get a variety of cases, usually at least one color of book style case and at least one silicone gel case. If available, I like a clear TPU case that shows off the skin.

Last will come the smallest bag or pouch I can find that will carry the device (in its book style case or a sleeve) with all of.the related accessories.
