Hi guys
Hope someone can help me. Is it possible to somewhere change the settings of the Amazon Kindle App to recognize mobi books stored on an SD Card for an Android device? Or is the default folder on the main memory the only place to store books? |

Just create folder named "kindle" on root of SD card and copy your mobi/azw3 files to that folder.

Tried that on numerous occasions but my device does not pick the books up in the app... When I search on the Tab 'On Device' the new books does not reflect?
Any other advise? |

I'm pretty sure that the Android Kindle App doesn't support books on an external SD card, but would be happy to be proved wrong!

I have a device with no SD card slot (Nexus 4) so can't really be 100%, but since on such devices Android is mounting /data partition as /sdcard it **should** all be the same, real SDcard or fake/emulated one? And on my Nexus 4 it still works when I put some books in /sdcard/kindle, just as it did on my old phone which had sdcard slot.
If not, you could probably fix your problem by creating a symlink. |

Ah.... Sorry, last time my mobile had MMC slots Android was at version 2.3
![]() ![]() So I guess you would need rooted phone to fix your problems with some symlink (not possible if SDcard is formatted as FAT) or some bind mount "magic". |
