Yes...it's sort of deceiving. It's more like getting 6 months KU for half price.

As I bought 2 KF6s less than a month ago, for gifts, I am inquiring whether the promo can be applied to my account.

I could always buy another and return one, I suppose.

Call CS and see if they'll add it for you, provided you pay the difference.

What's funny is that 4 Kindles are eligible - Basic, Paperwhite 2, HD6, HD7 - and the biggest discount goes to the cheapest one. The Basic gets a $40 discount and the other three only get $30 discounts.

In similar cases Amazon has adjusted the price since you can always return and re-order.

I think so. It's always been that way with Kindles before. Still no reply from Mohammed, who never heard of the promo and wanted more info. I'll call.

Amazon slashed their Kindle prices for Black Friday and I can confirm at least for now that the discounts stack. I just bought a basic Kindle and 6 mo of Kindle Unlimited for $74.

So when did the discount on KU show up, after you completed the purchase? Every time I get all the way to "place order" it's still not there.

I had to go just before the final ordering screen, all the way through the entire ordering process, before I knew how much the order would cost.

Thank you. I put a PW from the promo page into my cart, and now I see it. So that means no modifying of device after adding to the cart, or the discount disappears.

So I can get a Fire HD 6 black 8gb with 6 months for $89. What will I do with another one? LOL. Maybe my mom would like one for Christmas.

I ordered one. I applied some CC points. Not sure what I'll do with the KF6 since it's only 8gb.

It's is apx $79 for the Kindle Basic and 6 months of Kindle Unlimited.That is the same price as just the kindle itself, Nice.I just bought one as a replacement for the Basic Kindle
I have been using for the last year.I am going to give that one to my Nephew and tie his Kindle to my account so he can use the Kindle Unlimited as well.

In reading the T/C for Kindle Unlimited bundles, I see you can split it from the device. They mention gifting the device to one person and the KU to another. But it would work as well to gift the Kindle device to someone and keep the 6 months of KU for yourself! Sort of like those restaurants that give you a $10 gift card "for yourself" when you buy $50 in gift cards.
