Question H2O screen protector.

Has anyone in the US found a good matte screen protector for the H2O?

I've been using ereaders for years, and I've never used a screen protector. The screen is glass, it can only be scratched by diamond or harder glass.

I throw them in my purse, I've never had a scratched screen. A good cover is all you need, IMO.

I actually have a tiny scratch on my H2O screen, too, despite me being very careful with it. I do use it naked, but keep it in a leather sleeve when not in use.

I've also had several e-readers before this (a Sony and 2 Kindles), all of which have survived years of use without getting scratches (no screen protectors either). The scratch on the H2O is a first for me, as I've always thought these screens are fairly sturdy.

I'm still undecided about getting a screen protector myself though, because of how it might affect screen clarity.

The screen has a glass substrate, but the e-ink and light-guide layers are on top of the glass, so the glass gives no protection from scratching.

Having said that, I have used my Glo for two years without a cover or screen protector and have never had a scratch (I do use a hard case when transporting it though), so the layers on top of the glass must be fairly hard.

I find Matte screens to cause text to be blurred... regardless though its your call if you use one or not. There is certainly no reason not to protect your device to your fullest capabilities.

I have several scratches on my Aura's screen. I used to carry it in my back pocket with no case or anything, and a few grains of sand or something probably scratched it. Now I use a SleepCover case, and that's getting pretty worn now too, but at least the ereader itself isn't getting more scratched. So yes, the screen will scratch.
