Lightbulb Free (nook UK) Acts & Miracles by C. Keener [Xtian Academic Theology Commentaries]

Two highly scholarly theological research studies/commentaries by Craig S. Keener, a seminary professor with a PhD from Duke University, according to his bio-blurb, are free courtesy of Christian publisher Baker's Academic imprint.

Actually these are very probably glitch freebies, as I have not been able to spot them anywhere free besides B&N UK (and they're very pricey everywhere else), and it's a relatively random and somewhat specialized set of volumes (I had a peek inside and they're definitely not toned towards a more general sort of audience, but if you're interested in the finer points of theology whether you're actually Christian or not, then you'll probably be interested in these), so if you this happens to be your thing and you happen to have a UK account, enjoy!

Miracles: The Credibility of the New Testament Accounts by Craig S. Keener @ B&N UK

Description
Most modern prejudice against biblical miracle reports depends on David Hume's argument that uniform human experience precluded miracles. Yet current research shows that human experience is far from uniform. In fact, hundreds of millions of people today claim to have experienced miracles.

New Testament scholar Craig Keener argues that it is time to rethink Hume's argument in light of the contemporary evidence available to us. This wide-ranging and meticulously researched two-volume study presents the most thorough current defense of the credibility of the miracle reports in the Gospels and Acts. Drawing on claims from a range of global cultures and taking a multidisciplinary approach to the topic, Keener suggests that many miracle accounts throughout history and from contemporary times are best explained as genuine divine acts, lending credence to the biblical miracle reports.

A respected New Testament scholar presents the most thorough current defense of the credibility of biblical miracles.

Acts: An Exegetical Commentary : Volume 2: 3:1-14:28 by Craig S. Keener @ B&N UK

Highly respected New Testament scholar Craig Keener is known for his meticulous and comprehensive research. This commentary on Acts, his magnum opus, may be the largest and most thoroughly documented Acts commentary available. Useful not only for the study of Acts but also early Christianity, this work sets Acts in its first-century context.

In this volume, the second of four, Keener continues his detailed exegesis of Acts, utilizing an unparalleled range of ancient sources and offering a wealth of fresh insights. This magisterial commentary will be an invaluable resource for New Testament professors and students, pastors, Acts scholars, and libraries.
