Question about factory reset on Aura H2O
I have read the instructions for downgrading firmware. It seems the first step is to perform a factory reset.
Does a factory reset delete the reading stats on the device (books read/hours read etc)? Is there a way to re-introduce those stats to their previous values after the downgrade process is complete? |

What was your procedure? Did you just copy the 3.13.1 firmware into the .kobo directory on the device without a factory reset? Is is safe to do that? I have no patches installed. |

1. Got the firmware files designed for my kobo on the dedicated page 2. Put KoboRoot.tgz, upgrade/* and manifest.md5sum in the .kobo folder, eject, and let the magic happens. 3. Repatched the firmware 3.13.1 with my favorite patches As for reinstroducing stats (which you won't need to do), i've read some things about that in the forum - it's a dead end. Opening and browsing the database file clearly shows it. Last edited by cramoisi; 05-02-2015 at 04:37 PM. |

Just a warning, downgrading the firmware without a factory reset doesn't always work. It probably won't brick the device, but there can be some strange behaviour. Downgrading one or two versions is probably safe, but the more versions involved, the more likely there will be a problem.
