The Killer Slugs: An Apocalyptic Short-Short [FREE]

The Killer Slugs
An Apocalyptic Short-Short

FREE

Donald R. Broyles

Whoever thought slugs would be so plentiful, so.......hungry. And so well-adjusted to their environment. This short-short (or perhaps prose poem might be a better designation) is only 200 words in length. If you enjoy reading Flash Fiction, Prose Poems or Short-Shorts - with a dash of humor thrown in - then this is something right up your alley. Just be careful where you step!

I've mentioned elsewhere on MR how much I enjoy flash fiction and other very short pieces while sitting in waiting rooms, etc. In fact, I had this story -- and others -- with me last week while I took a relative to a (routine) appointment. (I never know if these will take 3 minutes or an hour.)

This was fun. And honestly, if I have to face an apocalypse I'd just as soon it be one that can be held at bay with the salted rim of a margarita glass. It's just more civilized.

Thank you for the nice words.

I enjoy the form very much, and had (and have) to be careful that I'm not promoting when I talk about this form.

Again, thank you.

ADDED: A margarita glass....I think there's a story in there!
