Looking For Recommedations
Good morning,
Need some advice on tablets/e-readers for the wife and myself. She currently has a Nook Color and I have a Nook HD, or did but that is another thread. We have about 1,700 Nook books and would like something that we can download the Nook reading app too and also the Kindle app. You may ask why we just don't go with the new Samsung Nook, I am not impressed with it and the wife needs something without a camera as she works around HIPPA stuff all day and devices with a camera are not allowed. MUST HAVES:
I welcome all thoughts on what to look at or maybe more importantly what to avoid. |

Your requirement not to have a camera is a bit of a show-stopper for Android tablets, I'm afraid.
I would have recommended a Nexus 7 tablet for your 7" reader, but I'm afraid that it does have a camera. If the "no camera" requirement is a hard and fast rule, you may be better of looking at dedicated eInk reading devices, rather than Android tablets. Eg, the Kobo H2O has an excellent 6.8" screen. Harry,
I think the Nook Apps are only for Android and Apple, that is something I will have to check out. Thanks you for the info I did not know that a camera was on all android device. |

The best tablets without cameras are the Nook HD and the Nook HD+
These devices meet most of your requirements. Give your Nook HD to your wife, and get a Nook HD+ for yourself. |

Yes, they are 2012 devices. So they are ancient in a lot of ways. My girls' 2 HDs are doing very well, and they get a LOT of use. The Nook HD hardware is excellent. And since they have the Play Store, one can run most Android apps, including the Kindle reading app. They are a good bang for the buck!

Oh, yes, true! Perhaps the new Nexus 9, which is $399. I haven't read any reviews, but the Nexus 7 is excellent.
