New Connelly eBook on Sony/iPad Not!

Just bought the new Michael Connelly book (The Burning Room) only to discover it won't read on the Sony nor on the iPad even though the Kobo site says it will read on the iPad.

Anybody else have this problem?

Are you syncing it to the Kobo app on your iPad, or trying to get it on there some other way?

If you want to free a kepub-only book, you'll need to google the appropriate tool from Apprentice Alf. No more details can be given here. Alternatively you can ask Kobo for a refund.

In the future a relatively straightforward way to see if your book is kepub-only or has an epub option is to click Save Preview then check in your Kobo library (on the kobo website) - epub books with have an ADE EPUB download option; kepub-only books won't.

(Of course, a more straightforward way would be for Kobo to disclose format up front, or better to stop this ridiculous business of kepub-only books in the first place.)

Which edition of The Burning Room did you buy?

The Orion and Allen & Unwin editions have an epub option, but the Little Brown and Company and the other Little Brown and Company editions are kepub only, so will need a Kobo device or app to read (unless you remove DRM and convert to epub).

Assuming MickeyC didn't "travel" then the Little Brown edition is the only one available for purchase from the US.

It was the Brown edition. I just got the Kindle verizon and will read it on my iPad. I did get a refund from Kobo.

Thanks

Just to be clear, are you saying you could not read the book purchased from Kobo on an iPad with the Kobo application?
