How to identify a PW2
Today I bought a Paperwhite at Staples. Is it considered a second generation PW even if the date on the back of the box says 2013?

A Paperwhite 2 has Amazon on the back and was released around Sept 2013. The Paperwhite 1 has Kindle on the back and was released around Sept 2012.

You mean where it gives the copyright date, i.e., "©2013"? The back of my box says that, and mine from Staples is the 2014 Kindle PW2, with 4 GB of storage and tending to yellowish in screen color.

If it says 2013 it possibly only has 2GB and not 4GB that the most current PW2s have. Have you checked?
