Voodoo Dawn by New South Wales-born author Greg Barron is a tie-in standalone short story to his Marika Hartmann series of geopolitical action thrillers starring the eponymous Australian intelligence officer, this installment pitting her and her team vs pirates , free courtesy of publisher HarperCollins.

Apparently the next-in-series is due out soon according to the author's bio-blurb (not listed for pre-order yet in Canada/UK, but maybe already in his native land where HarperCollins Australia apparently publishes these first), hence this introductory freebie.
