Hi all... ^^
I'm new to the site and also new using calibre, which is by far, the best application of it's kind. I want to know how can I edit the name of the folders where my books are imported to whenever I use the "Add books..." function. I don't really like the way they are named right now, as it seems the folder is named after the full title and author's name, which is then left incomplete (I assume this is because Windows limitations when handling filenames and the file's path). Also, I noticed the folder's name contains what it seems to be an ID of sorts, or more like a counter for the books I've added one by one. I want to be able to set the folder name to only the book name with volume number (or series if more than one book in it), excluding author, date and that ID I have right now. I leave an screenshot of what I have right now... Spoiler:
...and as you can see, the folder name is "incomplete", because its cut right in the middle of it, and I would prefer it without the author/publisher's name and that ID at the end, leaving only the book's title with its files inside. Hope anyone can help me, as I'm still new to this, and I want to learn some things, like making my own ePUBs and edit their metadata to suit my needs. Thanks in advance. ![]() |

The Calibre library is its own to manage. You import your books from external folders (which you can select with the Add Books file dialog) and Calibre does the rest; the library is a black box. If you want to have your own folder structure alongside it (for backup purposes or what-have-you) 'Save to Disk' will handle that for you. |
