Is the novel "PRINCE LESTAT" any good or merely bad?

I'm a fan of Anne Rice's writing. I even enjoy her 'bad' books.

Putting her personality aside and the issues she has with her lack of control toward some of her detractors, has anyone read this yet?

I'm going to go ahead and buy it, because I like her books even when they are less than successful.

Any opinions on this book?

I liked some of her stuff, but she went a bit weird. I read her "Angel Time: The Songs of the Seraphim: A Novel" which was absolutely dreadful (in a philosophical sense, see my comments here).

However, I might be interested in Prince Lestat if it gets some thumbs up.

I opted out of reading any of her Christian-based fiction, as not in my interest at that time.

I may read it now in order to get her prejudiced view.

When I was in college I read the Vampire Chronicles at least to date. After Memnoch the Devil I got kind of burned out on it. The first few volumes were great, the later ones not so much.

I recently tried reading the Witching Hour, but find that I know longer appreciate her meandering melodramatic style. I don't think I will be reading this novel. Best to leave it at fond memories of the first three novels in the Vampire Chronicles.
