where do you buy your Kobos?

They certainly don't have a wide marketing footprint, do they? Guess I expected one or more of the big ticket stores (like Target) to stock them. Kobo even lists rakuten's former corporate name (buy.com) on their site. I shouldn't squawk as there's an indie dealer about 20 minutes from where I live.

All that being said, I'd be interested to find out where users here picked theirs up.

Kobo used to have a page that listed independent sellers of their ereaders, but I can't seem to find it on their site now. This site list mosts of the stores, but not all of them. I know Family Christian Booksellers also sells them in Illinois for instance (but the last time I called them, they didn't have them in stock but could order a reader, maybe that's why they're not on the list).

So I've picked mine up from The Book Cellar, and it's right next to a nice outdoor cafe, a section that's more like a park walkway, and near a library as well, so it's nice to make the special trip there too.

Edit: I should add that it can be hit-or-miss which readers any particular store stocks, so call ahead and make sure they have the one you're interested in.

where do buy your Kobos? interesting question. I bought my first Kobo, a mini, at Best Buy. My second Kobo was a glo, purchased from my local independant book store. My third Kobo, an Aura HD, I bought at Kobo.com. My last Kobo was a second mini, the price at my town's book seller was just too good to pass up.

One thing I liked was I could see, and hold, the Kobos I bought from my independant store. Best Buy wouldn't even let me open the box! But my independant store wont carry the Auras.. might be off on this but I don't think the Auras are available via bookstores.

I've bought mine at Officeworks (big stationery chain store) and at JB Hi-Fi (big electronics chain store).

Hmmm... for the most part, I've purchased from Chapters/Indigo and Kobo. Add Best Buy, London Drugs, Future Shop, Staples and Target at which I've purchased Kobo ereaders that were on sale as gifts.

Kobo's website for all of the new ones... but dang, Borders for the Kobo Wifi, which was my first Kobo! So long ago.
