I can't post images anywhere

As in the post I just left here (which cover is better?), I haven't been able to post images anywhere. (I've tried at KDP forum and KBoards too.) It should be simple, right? Put the photo on a photo sharing site (I have--on Mediafire and Flckr). Make sure they're not locked. Go to where you want to post, put the image url in between the IMG brackets, or on KDP in between exclamation marks.

The result--the images don't show up. Really frustrating. I've tried to figure it out and can't come up with any explanation. I thought maybe Adblocker was doing something so I disabled it--made no difference. I have hardly any apps. Click & Clean. HTTPS Everywhere. Circloscope. Google Docs. Shareaholic. That's it. Could it be that I'm using Linux?

It's not Linux. It's probably not your browser, either, but it would be good to know which one you're using.

You'll probably get more help if you post your question down in the "Feedback" section as a question.

I usually "attach" images to posts, so I can't be much more helpful than that.

The above was from my Windows computer -- this is from my Linux netbook, running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with Firefox 32.0.3. I have an old Photobucket account that I really haven't used for years, but this image should fit the board's guidelines for size. Photobucket gives several posting options, including an IMG code, which I copied and pasted here.

If you "Quote" my message you should be able to see the code.

If the hardware is at all modern he is inside looking out. The two blank bolt heads are facing us. We don't put bolt nuts or screw heads facing outward for burglars to unscrew. If the plate is just nailed in place then no way to tell.

I think we can troubleshoot it if you post the URL of an image you would like to post.

Thanks guys (and Rocky the Flying Squirrel). I found a very roundabout way of doing it. Post the photo on Flickr. Then click on the 'share' thingie. Then choose 'BBCode.' Copy it. Paste it, but only use the part with the (I know this must be hard to follow) the 'https....jpg" and put that between Img brackets.

Here's how that plays out.

What's copied from the BBCode:

jamiesGamblePrototypetwoxcf by mrbobblehead, on Flickr

Which posts that tiny thumbnail. But if I use most of the top https one (leaving off the "_" and the "s" before ".jpg") I get this:

pidgeon (thanks) the links from Mediafire (which I like and I'm really hoping will be easier to use than Flickr) for the two photos I'm trying to post are:

Now those are from the Mediafire simple 'copy this link to share' thing. BUT when I right click on the file and then click on "Share" I get more choices. (see screenshot)

And so if I want to post in a forum, I just go to that page and copy the link address of whatever size I want? I'm going to try it here.

That should've posted the small link (213X320).

What am I missing?

Sorry if I seem thick about this, but I still don't get it. Like your links have "farm" in them. Mine doesn't.

This could be good if I can figure it out.

Just add "sizes" at the end of the main page URL.

Or click "Download this photo" and select "View all sizes".

Choose a size, and copy the link from "Download the _______ size of this photo". You need to edit the link to leave off the "_d" at the end (after the size indicator, like "_s") because that is the downloader.
