Page press buttons

Does anyone know if the page press buttons on the new voyage will be the same as the kindle keyboard. For example if I use only my left hand, can I use the left hand side page press to go forward and backwards.

It appears that there will be a dot and a longer bar on both sides of the reader...the dot is for paging backwards, the bar is for paging forward. So, yes.

I thought the dots were light sensors? . That's what I read on a review

From the Kindle Voyage’s user manual:

The light sensor appears to be on the top/left corner of the unit.

My understanding is that they are not buttons, per se, but areas of the bezel that you press to page forward and back.

They are pressure sensitive areas on bezel, not touch sensitive. The amount of pressure required to trigger a page turn is adjustable.

But can you turn off the page turning of the bezel so if you prefer the touch you won't accidentally turn the page holding the bezel? Can you turn off one side and not the other?

According to the manual, which can be downloaded from Amazon:

Yes, the buttons/sensors can be turned off.
No, there is no mention that the sides can be configured individually, so it probably best to assume that they can't be.

If you don't plan on using the age turn buttons, you are paying for something that you'll never use and I do feel that the page buttons do add noticeable cost.

Once it is successfully jailbroken I have no doubt someone will make a KUAL extension to disable one side or the other on its own.

IMO the screen resolution moving from 212 ppi to 300 ppi is the main reason I am upgrading from the PW2, yes I like the idea of the page press sensors but it's the screen that interests me the most.

No security is ever one hundred percent perfect, and there WILL be an exploit.

Had to use my PW2 in out-of-the-box-Amazon-mode for 43 days before a JB was found... One of the reasons I have not pre-ordered the Voyage is because I don't know how long a JB will take this time (or even if... I am not automatically assuming that there will be one).
